Overcoming Structural Challenges
As with many renovation projects, this build presented unique challenges. The original farm shed was built into an earth bank that also supported a newly installed tennis court. Removing the rear wall simply wasn’t an option, so we worked with our structural engineer to find a creative solution. By underpinning the existing brickwork and constructing a new internal wall, we created a solid foundation for our green oak frame to take shape.
A Seamless Blend of Tradition and Modernity
The beauty of this project lies in its careful balance of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary style. While the oak frame was built using time-honoured techniques, other elements of the design introduced a more modern feel, including:
Steel-framed glazing, both inside and out, for a clean and elegant contrast to the warmth of the oak.
Painted wooden cladding and woven grass wallpaper, adding texture and sophistication to the interiors.
Handmade hardwood joinery, ensuring a high-end finish with exquisite attention to detail.
