Full Construction Services

Whether you're planning an oak garage, extension, or a completely new building, one of the first questions is often how much of the process you'll need to manage yourself.

For some clients, the answer is very little. They want one company to oversee everything from the first conversation through to a finished building. Others already have an architect, builder or project manager in place and simply need an experienced oak framing company to design, manufacture and supply the frame.

At Hartwood Oak, we regularly work both ways. We tailor our involvement to suit the project, giving you as much or as little support as you need.

A Complete Construction Service

For clients looking for the simplest possible route, we offer a full construction service that takes a project from concept to completion.

It begins with understanding your ideas, your property, and how you want to use the building. From there, we develop the design, coordinate the necessary groundworks and oversee the build through to completion. The oak frame is manufactured and erected by our team before roofing, glazing, plumbing and electrics are completed to bring the building together.

Rather than coordinating several different contractors yourself, you have one team managing the process. Questions, decisions and any changes that arise are handled through a single point of contact, making the build easier to manage from start to finish.

Working Alongside Your Own Team

Not every client needs a fully managed service.

Many people already have an architect they've worked with before, a trusted local builder or a project manager overseeing the wider development. In these situations, we're equally happy to join the existing team.

Our involvement may be focused on designing, manufacturing and supplying the oak frame, ready for your own builder to erect on site. We work closely with other professionals to ensure the frame integrates smoothly with the rest of the build, while leaving you free to continue working with the people you've already chosen.

There's no single way to work with Hartwood Oak. The level of involvement is shaped by the project rather than following a fixed formula.

A Service That Fits the Project

Because we're a family-run business with a hands-on approach, our full construction service works best for projects within around an hour of our Berkshire base. For larger or more complex projects, we're often able to travel further, depending on the scope of the work.

For clients based further afield, supplying the oak frame is often the more practical option. This allows you to benefit from our bespoke design while working with trusted local contractors for the construction.

It's a flexible approach that allows us to support projects across a wider area while maintaining the level of service we're known for.

One Point of Contact Throughout

Building projects naturally involve decisions along the way. Design questions, build queries, and changes of mind are all a normal part of creating a bespoke oak building.

For clients choosing our full construction service, those conversations happen with one team. Rather than speaking to separate contractors for different stages of the build, you'll have a single point of contact who understands the project from the initial design through to completion.

That continuity helps avoid misunderstandings, keeps communication straightforward, and allows more efficient decisions throughout the build.

Getting Started

Every project starts in the same way: with a conversation.

A phone call or email is all it takes to start the process. We'll arrange a site visit, discuss your ideas and develop an initial design before providing an indicative price.

At that stage, you don't need to decide exactly how much of the project you'd like us to manage. Some clients choose Hartwood Oak to oversee the whole build, while others prefer to work with their own builder.

Whether we're managing the whole build or supplying the oak frame, the starting point is always the same: understanding your project and finding the approach that works best for you.
