Oak orangery on thatched cottage

Hungerford, Berkshire

Having previously built a very nice double garage with home office and overflow accommodation for the owners of this lovely Grade II listed property between Hungerford and Lambourn, the clients approached us to help with building a single storey extension to the rear of the property.
We came up with a design that enabled an extension to built without affecting the existing structure and designed a traditional lead flat roof with lantern to keep away from the first floor windows and low thatched roof. The new building significantly improved the living space of the property.
Despite being previous applications by architects being turned down previously, Hartwood worked with the Conservation officer and won planning permission and listed building consent for the client.
