Oak framed Access Link

Baydon, Wiltshire

I loved this job not just because it was a real challenge to design but the difference it made to the clients and their son who was wheelchair bound.
The remit was design two generous sized entrances porches, suitable for wheel chair use, one at each end of the house, linked by a long enclosed glazed cloister. So far so good but there was nearly a meter drop in ground level between the two porches so the cloisters had to run down hill to the second porch and again, be suitable for a wheel chair.
We came up with a design the clients liked and obtained planning permission for the project. I am happy to say that the clients where over the moon with the end result.
