Oak buildings should be made of oak. It is stronger and lasts much longer than softwood. But it is not just that. The look of oak is incomparable to anything else. Saving a few pounds by using softwood timbers can be a false economy – it simply doesn’t look right.

We construct our buildings entirely from oak. The joinery is generally handmade oak unless the client specifies otherwise. The exterior cladding is also sawn oak, secured with stainless steel fixings. We finish the roofs to the client’s specification with traditional clay peg tiles, natural slate, thatch or even lead sheet.
