Mr. H. Swindon

Jointing methods matter. They make our oak buildings stronger and last much longer than those constructed with faster and cheaper methods.

We construct our buildings with the traditional mortice and tenon jointing methods that carpenters have used for centuries, and use handmade tapered oak pegs on all of the joints connecting the larger principle timbers.

We mortice wall studs (the smaller vertical wall timbers) into the sole and wall plates, dovetail tiebeams into the wall plates, and clasp purlins within the roof trusses.
